Are you spending your time waiting for the next storm or enjoying the sunshine?

Are you spending your time waiting for the next storm or enjoying the sunshine?

While I have no boating nor nautical experience whatsoever, I love the boating analogies because that is what I was raised with, I guess.

“Row, Row, Row your boat, gently down the stream….life is but a dream”

“We are Captains of both our voyage and our destinies”, stuff like that. I have used the boating analogies myself in my videos already I think.

The question I started with above, was a thought provoked by a song lyric.

As we go through the voyages of our lives, storms are inevitable. It’s life, and $h!t happens sometimes.

What happens after a crazy storm? What are our options?

We can stay crouched in the cellar hoping the storm doesn’t come back.
We can run to the neighbors to tell them to get in the cellar to hide as well.
We can run to the neighbors to brag about our bravery.
We can run to the neighbors to ask them for help.
We can assess the damages then run to do the same as above.
We can assess the damages, make plans and coordinate repairs while fearing the next storm.
or,
We can find gratitude in our safety, learning what we can as we assess the damages. Make changes from what we learn and sharing community we survive and grow.

These are some options we have as communities and individuals. For each of us, stuff is going to happen and sometimes it gets confusing.

Life is little more than a voyage, and change is the one thing that is constant. We can live life in Fears of the next storm, or find gratitude and comfort in the sun while it’s there. Storms and sunshine are parts of life.

Namaste, and God bless~
